This is fantastic, a wedding where the bride and groom sprung a surprise on their guests. As it was only this month I fell in love with wedding tipis, I jumped at the chance to blog this gorgeous May wedding.
Jayne and Luke were married at Rufford Old Hall, a National Trust property in Lancashire. The wedding photos are by Lawson Photography.
Wedding dress with beautiful embroidery and bow detail, and Pink bridal shoes
Jayne spent the morning in fits of giggles with her sister. They share the same brilliant smile.
Getting ready. Jayne's dress is beautiful with a square neckline and little straps, and the detailing is exquisite.
Guests and then the bride and her sister arrive at church. I love Jayne's dress with all that lovely floaty lace embroidery and the gathered skirts in this shot.
A loving glance as the wedding begins
The marriage ceremony. Jayne's hair is dotted with tiny white paper flowers.
I love this picture. It's a classic shot with the bride and groom sharing a kiss in the wedding car - but the little girl watching and the father of the bride reflected in the glass make it really special.
Arriving at the reception venue. Shakespeare once played Rufford Old Hall!
Enjoying the sunshine with some romantic photos
Smiles and laughter all the way - these two are clearly made for each other. Luke holds Jayne up while she giggles.
I love the romance in this photo
The surprise wedding tipis! Everyone loved these; nobody knew they'd be there!
Tipis came from Papakata – specialists in hiring out Kåta tents which were pioneered by the Sami people of Lapland. They’re simply brilliant! Mysterious and exotic looking from the outside, welcoming and still exotic looking on the inside!
Inside the wedding tipis
Wedding details: exquisite little yellow cupcakes and little lanterns
The tables were set with gorgeous summery flowers in sunny yellow
The wedding breakfast
Wedding speeches - going well, big smiles!
Jayne's dad has every guest laughing - Luke and Jayne most of all
Luke has his share of the limelight (but isn't Jayne absolutely stunning in these pictures?!)
Luke's mum makes a toast
There are some beautiful pictures of the dancing
Jayne and Luke impress their guests
I'll end with a favourite: this image of Jayne and Luke dancing in soft lighting is just beautiful.
Thanks to the lovely Laura from Lawson Photography for submitting this wedding for the blog.
Laura spotted my blog about wedding tipis last week and got in touch – I had to agree, nothing beats a surprise tipi! Check out Papakata for more info on hiring a tipi for your wedding.
Do check out the Lawson photography blog for more of Jayne and Luke’s wedding photos, there were so many I loved I couldn’t possibly have blogged them all here. They’re well worth checking out.
